The eaves trough and rainspouts serve to drain water from the roof and away from the house or building. However, it can happen that dead leaves carried by the wind, granules removed from the roof coating and other kinds of debris stop the water flow. As a result: stock water buildup may, because of the frost, seep in and cause premature damage to the roof. An inspection and a regular cleaning will prevent those kinds of problems. Also, make sure that the rainspouts carry the water as far as possible from the foundations.
